Alliance for Sustainability in the Plastics Industry
Vida Circular and Indelpro are joining forces to promote a more sustainable model in the plastics industry.
With the goal of promoting a more sustainable future in the plastics industry, Vida Circular, a platform dedicated to promoting environmental practices, and Indelpro , the only producer of polypropylene (PP) resins in Mexico, have formed an alliance that will allow them to promote responsible practices focused on the circular economy and energy efficiency as strategic points.
The constant search for solutions to environmental challenges keeps Indelpro committed to innovation. Therefore, the collaboration with Vida Circular is key to promoting the adoption of circular economy principles in the plastics industry. In this way, developing joint processes that facilitate the identification of areas for improvement will foster more sustainable and responsible practices within the industry and society.
One of the priorities for Indelpro, located in Altamira, Tamaulipas, is the adoption of responsible practices throughout the value chain, through initiatives that promote product redesign and further reduce waste.
As Humberto Quiroz, Americas Procurement Director | Regional Sustainability & Marketing Director at ALPLA—the founding company of Vida Circular—states, this alliance represents a concrete opportunity for transformation:

Environmental education as part of the transformation process
In addition to improving practices in the industrial sector, one of the challenges of this alliance is to combat the misinformation surrounding this sector. In this sense, education is essential to guide the transformation, particularly in regulation, decarbonization, and waste management. Only in this way can the benefits of plastics be demonstrated and their responsible use promoted.
Indelpro's results promoting sustainability
In line with its environmental commitment and the implementation of responsible practices for environmental protection, Indelpro has achieved the following to date:
- Reduction of 14,376 MW/h of electricity consumption, equivalent to the annual consumption of 5,990 households
- Reduction of 25,200 tons in steam consumption
- Reduction of 55 thousand m³ in water consumption, equivalent to the monthly consumption of 5 thousand inhabitants
- Reduction of 35 thousand tons of CO2 emissions.
Strategic alliances like these have the potential to maximize results, demonstrating the value of collaborating for the benefit of a common goal.
