From June 17-21, 2024, we participated in an incredible reforestation day at the Alameda 2000 Park in Toluca, State of Mexico. At VIDA CIRCULAR® we teamed up with ALPLA, known for their eco-friendly packaging solutions, to take care of our planet.
This is the second year we have adopted and cared for two hectares of green areas in the park. We planted more than 1,500 trees, demonstrating our commitment to a greener future. Carlos Torres, director of ALPLA Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, emphasized that this action is key to their environmental vision.
Why is reforestation important?
Reforestation has many benefits, here are some of them:
Improves air quality: Trees capture CO2 and release oxygen.
Conserves water: They help water penetrate the soil, recharging aquifers.
Protects the soil: Roots and leaves prevent erosion.
Increasesbiodiversity: They create habitats for many species.
Combats climate change: They absorb CO2, reducing greenhouse gases.
Social and economic benefits: They provide resources such as timber and fruit, and are excellent for recreation and tourism.
