Alliance for the environment, Circular Living and Colgate-Palmolive
Concern for the environment is increasingly present in our daily lives. That's why, Colgate-Palmolive has joined us in Circular Living, where we promote the circular economy as a more sustainable way of producing and consuming. With this alliance, we want to promote responsible practices and connect consumers with practical ways of caring for the environment.
Through this collaboration, together with Colgate-Palmolivewe seek not only to make our operations more sustainable, but also to educate and empower everyone so that, through their daily decisions, they can make a difference. With a special focus on the life cycle of plastics, this collaboration invites us to see recycling and reuse from a fresh and accessible perspective, making us part of a movement that benefits everyone.
Colgate-Palmolive's results that make a difference
Colgate-Palmolive is letting its actions do the talking. They have launched products with 100% recyclable packaging and collection and recycling programs in different regions, managing not only to reduce environmental impact, but also to motivate consumers to be part of the change.
In 2020, they took an important step by creating the first recyclable toothpaste tube, and decided to share this technology with the rest of the industry. In addition, they are adding recycled material in the packaging of their personal and home care products, from packaging to toothbrush handles, where recycled plastic plays a key role.
Colgate-Palmolive not only wants to reduce environmental impact; they seek to inspire every household to be part of this change, moving together towards a more conscious and balanced world. To achieve this, they have defined four key pillars that guide their actions:
Sustainable packaging design
By 2025, Colgate-Palmolive aims to make 100% of its packaging recyclable. They have already reached 99%, showing their commitment to plastic waste reduction and more responsible production.
2. Reduction of virgin plastics
Another key objective is to reduce the use of virgin plastics in its packaging; by 2025, it aims to eliminate one third, replacing them with recyclable, reusable or compostable materials, in line with the circular economy.
3. Optimization of water use
understands the importance of water and has implemented strategies to optimize its use in all its plants. In addition, it is committed to protecting this resource in areas of scarcity, benefiting the environment and local communities.
4. Energy efficiency and emissions reduction
They seek to reduce their carbon footprint with clear targets, reaching zero emissions by 2040 and operating 100% on renewable energy by 2030. With investments in clean technologies and optimized processes, they demonstrate that environmental commitment is key to their future vision.
"Our commitment to the environment is not limited to the optimization of resources in manufacturing; it is a responsibility that we assume at every stage of the life cycle, from the design and procurement of raw materials for our products to the final disposal of waste," says Tehicú Valenzuela, Sustainability Champion at Colgate-Palmolive Mexico.

Colgate-Palmolive and Vida Circular promoting responsible consumption
With this alliance we seek more than internal changes, we are committed to a cultural change that inspires everyone to adopt sustainable habits. The idea is simple but powerful: through education and awareness, we invite people to manage their waste responsibly, starting with proper separation to facilitate recycling or reuse. We are developing attractive and comprehensive communication strategies, involving key voices so that this message reaches and generates a positive environmental impact.
"Today, the industry's commitment to the continuous collection and use of materials is becoming increasingly important. This alliance will allow us to connect each link in the chain, from transformers to the end consumer, reinforcing our commitment to continue the life cycle of products. It also allows us to be a link of information and action, from the issuance of a product to the market, its use and collection, to giving it a second life through its reincorporation in new packaging," says Humberto Quiroz, Director of Procurement & Sustainability at ALPLA and our founding spokesperson for Vida Circular.

United for a sustainable future
We are committed to driving real change toward more conscious and sustainable consumption. Through this alliance, we seek to empower consumers by providing them with clear information about recycling and the value of plastic when managed responsibly. As Tehicú Valenzuela points out, "An informed consumer makes conscious decisions that have a positive impact and contribute to building a more sustainable future."
Moreover, as Humberto Quiroz adds, "Plastic, when managed correctly, is an incredibly valuable resource. We want people to discover its true potential in the circular economy." For us, this collaboration goes beyond our own operations: it is a shared responsibility. We inspire people to see plastic as a critical resource and work for a change in global consumption habits.
